Easy and controlable

  • Easy to install

Why?

  • You will need this board if you are using Ramps or MKS control boards with dual extrusion
  • The 2nd power output will be used for the 2nd hot end, so you will have no more power output to drive your cooling fans.
  • In order to keep the cooling fans controlable, you will need this board.

How to install?

The board is to be wired this way

RRD fan extender Ramps 1.4

On the left side, you have the main power supply for the fans

You will need to connect your +12V from the ramps

WARNING: make sure to to respect the polarity:

Red wire = +12V

BLack wire = 0V (GND)

You then need to connect this board to the Servo port of the ramps.

The blue arraow shows where you can get the +12V power supply from the board

The black arrow shows where to connect your fans.

WARNING: make sure to to respect the polarities:

Pins D6 and D11 are used to drive the board (here on the red row).

These 2 pins are PWM capable output pins.

Keep calm, everything is fine!

Shift the module 2 columns on the right

In your firmware, just change the pins mapping (file pins_ramps.h for marlin firmware)

  • D11 => D5
  • D6 => D4
